August 18, 2007 -- Joba Chamberlain learns quickly. In his first big league game, the right-hander admitted to not knowing who was coming up for the Blue Jays. Last night, he was aware the meat of the Tigers' order was his in the ninth inning of the Yankees' 6-1 victory at the Stadium.

Roger Clemens hasn't pitched since Aug. 7, when he was ejected and eventually suspended for hitting Toronto's Alex Rios in the back with a pitch after Alex Rodriguez was hit by Josh Towers. However, Torre doesn't believe the 45-year-old will be affected by the down time when he starts today. Clemens, 4-5 with a 4.00 ERA in 13 games (12 starts), was the Aug. 7 winner.
