I think it's just the name brand effect...most REAL coffee drinkers all think starbucks over burn the coffee....:)
You are right on. One of the theories is that Starbucks tends to over burn their coffee to retain their coffee tasting universal. Furthermore, this is also due to the fact that they are such as huge coffee chains, it is extremely difficult to maintain the same coffee beans quality. By over burning the coffee a little, the over burn taste can overlap the coffee’s quality differences.
IMO, they started to lose the real coffee drinker market when all the retail chains switch Semi Auto Espresso Machine into Fully Automatic Machine. But again, this is an inevitable trade-off for going the "universal global experience" route. |
