ice is larger than water, because of the structure of water, the formual is H2O right? during liquid(water) form, the bond between O and H keeps shifting, this descrese the space between the molecules since they shift around. when it's in solid(ice) form, the structure becomes stable, and as a result more space is available in between, and that's why ice is bigger in volume than water. |
