Working with all five sence, not just sight....Discovering with them the real nature of Morella...Sensing the need to protect the empty landscape,
full of yearning a busier time...Seeking for out the right aspect, the way
the town strives to find it....Follow the mountain's rhythm, fragmented by a thousand stone fences, all filled with light and shadows. This is a project
forged in the open air, on the site, responding to all the vibrations you feel
on your body. Many were the hours we spent face to with where we had to
build, face to face with landscape, face to face with the castle...
Familiarising ourselves with all the paths that outline the territory.
This was almost the first impulse. To define our scpoe with a path, which
was at the same time a building, which housed an air that was going to belong to us, an air already different from the air breathed in the empty landscape.
The project is precisely these intermediate spaces that face the landscape
and are sheltered by the suonstruction. These spaces which, while outside
the building, are in the building, in the same way that when you are inside
you are also suspended in the landscape.
Your vision is never allowed to collide with an opaque surface; it escapes
in every direction while light streams in. You are never between four walls,
not even in the classrooms. Light enters from the front, from the sides, and we even produced lucarnes for it to enter from behind...Like the feeling when you are outside: you are surrounded by light.
