Ewan McGregor 和 Nicole Kidman 泫然欲泣的對唱〈Come What May〉是《紅磨坊》（Moulin Rouge!）中唯一一首原創歌曲。但這首歌卻不符合奧斯卡原創歌曲的報名資格，因為〈Come What May〉並非為了《情陷紅磨坊》而寫。

〈Come What May〉歌名出自莎劇《馬克白》（Macbeth）的對白，用在這裏描述不怕受盡風霜的愛。
事實上創作者David Baerwald在1996年就寫好這首歌，原本要用在導演巴茲魯曼（Baz Luhrmann）的上一部電影，改編自莎劇的《羅密歐與茱麗葉：後現代激情篇》（William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet）。也就是說李奧納多（Leonardo DiCaprio）和嘉露兒丹絲（Claire Danes）本來早五年就會可以高唱〈Come What May〉，然後讓茱麗葉死在羅密歐懷裡。 |
